Submit A B-Plan to BSE Institute Limited, Have your start-up incubated in Canada

Mumbai, 27th August 2014: The Bombay Stock Exchange Institute is calling student entrepreneurs with interesting business ideas to participate in a competition called the Next Big Idea. In partnership with Ryerson University, Canada, and the Government of Ontario, and in association with the IBM Global Entrepreneurship Programme, this is the contest’s second edition.

“The competition seeks to discover India’s five most innovative technology startups that are looking to leverage a presence in Ontario, Canada, as a vehicle to expand to North America,” says Ajay Ramasubramaniam, director, Zone Startups India, a new incubator by the BSE.

Winners will have their businesses incubated at Ryerson University’s Business Incubator Centre and Digital Media Zone (DMZ). “Using the DMZ as a launch pad, entrepreneurs will receive mentorship in business development and international exposure,” says Ramasubramaniam. “Students cannot apply with just a business plan or idea. It should be a validated technology or product that is viable.”

To be eligible, the start-up should be registered and headquartered in India, and the founder should be over 18 years of age.

Start-ups can visit www.nextbigideacontest.com and fill out the application form. The competition is national, and will be judged by a panel comprising professionals from the BSE Institute, Ryerson University and industry professionals.
